Italian style and design exemplified in Azimut range at Gold Coast Boat Show

9 May, 2013

At this week’s Gold Coast Boat Show, visitors with an eye for Italian design will be able to explore two luxurious yachts from renowned Italian yacht designer Azimut that exemplify the brand’s attention to detail.

Simpson Marine, Asia’s leading yacht dealer and broker, are displaying the new Azimut 54 on its stand, as well as the stunning Azimut 100 Leonardo, one of the largest and most luxurious yachts in Hong Kong.

The new Azimut 54 boasts a spacious split-level saloon, a full beam master suite and extended space for entertaining on its class leading 14 square metre flybridge. The yacht is the heir to the hugely popular Azimut 53, but every detail of its design has been improved to create an even more elegant and luxurious interior. The interiors are made of tobacco-coloured oak, while exposed fibreglass parts have been covered with an opaque finish. The Azimut 54 also incorporates a revised deck layout that provides more leisure space for those onboard inside and out.

Simpson Marine’s stand will also feature the 100 Leonardo, a stylish European superyacht that combines sportiness and elegance. Its refined Italian design and stylish and dynamic lines result in exterior spaces perfectly suited to entertaining. A large flybridge combines a dining area and sofas, while the yacht also features an impressive indoor entertainment area in its open-plan main saloon. Guest privacy is ensured through dedicated passageways that allow the crew to move around the yacht without passing through guest areas.

Mike Simpson, Managing Director of Simpson Marine, said: “The Italian style and design showcased in Azimut’s range of elegant yachts is much sought after by yacht owners in Hong Kong. The Azimut 54’s interior design is especially impressive, and the yacht’s layout and extensive flybridge provide comfort and luxury for guests on board.

“Meanwhile, the 100 Leonardo is typical of the increasingly popular 95 foot plus superyacht category that provides owners in Asia with real yachting freedom. We are seeing more and more interest in these yachts across the region as customers are drawn to the prestige that comes with having their own private superyacht on which to entertain large groups of business associates, friends or family.”

The Gold Coast Boat Show runs from 10-12 May. Opening hours are 12:00 to 18:00 on Friday 10 May and 10:00 to 18:00 on Saturday and Sunday, 11-12 May. The show will be held at 1 Castle Peak Road, Castle Peak Bay, Hong Kong, and Simpson Marine will be exhibiting on stand A37.

Beneteau’s Monte Carlo 5 to make first Asia appearance at Gold Coast Boat Show

9 May, 2013

Simpson Marine, Asia’s leading yacht dealer and broker, will host a range of yachts from Beneteau at this week’s Gold Coast Boat Show in Hong Kong, including the new Beneteau Power Monte Carlo 5 (MC5), and the Beneteau Oceanis 55. The line-up reflects growing local demand for leisure craft that provide their owners and guests with easy access to the waters around Hong Kong.

It will be the first time that the MC5, a luxurious flybridge yacht, has appeared in Asia. The MC5 is the first motor yacht to be launched in Beneteau’s new Monte Carlo flybridge range, and boasts a revolutionary new hull design called the “wave-splitter” – designed to slice through waves in all sea conditions.

Also on display at the Simpson Marine stand will be the new Beneteau Oceanis 55, a cruising yacht perfectly suited to those with an eye for clean and contemporary design. With sleek lines and an extremely comfortable, bright interior, this sailing yacht is the second-largest model in the Oceanis range.

Mike Simpson, Managing Director of Simpson Marine, said: “The continued local interest in mid-sized yachts reflects the accessibility these yachts provide for new yacht owners. People keen to escape the city to socialise with family and friends and experience the pleasures of yachting often find a Beneteau yacht perfect for their needs.

“These Beneteau yachts allow owners and their guests to travel almost anywhere in Hong Kong the same day in exceptional luxury. Indoor cabins mean that those on board can escape the hottest part of the day in air-conditioned comfort, while outdoor spaces are ideally suited to entertaining, with the MC5’s flybridge giving guests an elevated view of their surroundings while at sea.

“Our yachts from Beneteau are perfectly suited to a family day out on the water, or to entertaining guests or business associates in style and comfort.”

One factor driving demand for the mid-sized category is the licence requirements for yachts under fifty feet, such as the MC5. These can be operated by anyone who has passed Hong Kong’s Operator Grade 2 licence exam – a relatively easy way for first-time owners to enjoy the benefits of yachting freedom. Mid-sized yachts are also ideal for berthing in Hong Kong, where the typical berth is usually 60 feet.

The new Lagoon 39: the new Lagoon generation in 39’

25 February, 2013

Lagoon 39 re-confirms the strong personality of the new generation of the great Catamaran name.

An assertive personality

In the footsteps of the Lagoon 52, the new Lagoon 39 straight away shows her affiliation to the new generation of Lagoons: contemporary look with vertical, bevelled bows and aerial cabintop above the deck; comfortable space with wisely arrange saloon and cockpit area; easy handling and improved performances.

The new Lagoon 39 also completes perfectly the Lagoon range: she is a great fit between the indefatigable Lagoon 380 and the new S2 version of the Lagoon 400.

Stunning outside

The Lagoon 39 has trendy elegant hulls and a wide sleek deck. Circulation is easy from the modern vertical bows all the way to the aft. The wide transoms offer an ideal access to the sea and guarantee memorable moments of fun in the water.

All maneuvers are concentrated at the helm station, keeping the deck and cockpit clear for guests and family, while the skipper enjoys the easy handling and improved performances of Lagoon’s new innovative sail plan.

As for the cockpit, it will certainly serve as a reference in terms of comfort: the sitting area welcomes the owner and guests around a large dining table, well protected from the sun thanks to the broad cabintop. A wide transversal access leads onto the saloon which opens up for a perfect communication between outside and inside spaces.

Generous inside

For the size of less than 40’, the large saloon area with the fully equipped L-shape galley make the 39’ perfectly suited to accommodate friends and family for dinner-parties and holidays on board. The 360-degree window design brings ample natural light and emphasizes the volumes of the saloon.

Last but not least, the Lagoon 39 innovates with the offer of a luxurious 2 cabins version, where each hull is designed as a private owner’s suite with a king size bed, a sofa, an office space and a spacious ensuite bathroom. A breakthrough in terms of comfort for such size catamaran!

Beneteau Montecarlo range: the same blood of luxury Monte Carlo Yachts

6 December, 2012

New style, new strengths

November 28, 2012, Shanghai – Beneteau unveiled the New Montecarlo range recently. It is the fruit of a special collaboration between Beneteau shipyard and Nuvolari & Lenard, the same designers for Group’s high-end brand Monte Carlo Yachts. It will cover the less than 60 feet luxury ‘Motor Cruisers Flybridge’ segment.

“These boats will speak the same language as the Monte Carlo yachts.” says Carla Demaria, General Manager of the Beneteau brand and President of MCY.

Since the launch, Monte Carlo Yachts enjoys the huge success from all around the world including the Chinese market. In order to respond to the other needs from the market, Beneteau decided to extend the concept to smaller yachts.

MC 5 will be the first motor yacht of the new range to meet the public in early 2013. The yacht herself creates a classic and yet innovative style. She is translating a practical need for more responsible boating and re-examining the value of using luxury goods. She is a perfect combination to the industrial know-how of the French Group, world leisure boating leader, and the quintessence of Italian boat design.

“The Montecarlo line will strengthen Beneteau's position in the motor boat market” concludes Carla Demaria, “and it will create a natural pool of future potential Monte Carlo Yachts owners, by guaranteeing the benefits of the Group as a whole”.
