Cannes Yachting Festival shines once again on Cote d’Azur

Our team is just back from the 2016 Cannes Yachting Festival where witnessed many notable premieres and glamourous events. Sanlorenzo presented eight yachts with the SL78 celebrating her world premiere one day before the show in the beautiful setting of Cap Antibes’ Eden Roc hotel. The yacht won the award for Best Exterior in 80-120’ yachts during the annual gala dinner of the World Yacht Trophies – the first of many awards no doubt.

Monte Carlo Yachts presented its full range of six yachts with the premiere MCY 80 that astonished us all with her clean and classy design, very open and spacious layout and fantastic performance of 31knots max speed – which was enjoyed in comfort from the bow area! The yacht won Best Layout in 80-120’ at the World Yacht Trophies, and rightly so. Also on display was the MCY 76 belonging to the tennis superstar, Rafael Nadal, and we were pleased to notice its tasteful interiors and open saloon featuring a plenty of comfortable seating.

Lagoon has won our hearts with their new flagship the Seventy 7. This was most certainly one of the stars of the show and enchanted guests with her imposing size, sublime finish and internal ambiances including the private foldable balcony over the sea from the master cabin. That is a first time that an opening has been made in the hull to create an on water terrace, a masterpiece of technology.

Beneteau exhibited their full sail of power and sailing yachts with a notable premiere of the Oceanis Yacht 62 featuring aft garage, alfresco kitchenette and a luxury finish inside. This will be an excellent yacht to enjoy sailing in Asia.

We also enjoyed seeing the day boats from their FLYER range and a dynamic MC6S with reduced fly bridge and a sportier silhouette.

Finally, the Swift Trawler range on display from Beneteau, showed again why these yachts with their long range and affordable price are perfect for Asia.

We enjoyed sea trials on Sanlorenzo SL78 and MCY 80 and had the pleasure of showing our Asia-based clients all our brands’ yachts on display. A busy yet energizing week… and now it’s time to start our show season in Asia.
