Sanlorenzo’s Entire SX Range Arrives in Hong Kong; SX76, SX88 and SX112 Delivered in Early Summer

Sanlorenzo’s success and desirability continue to expand at a remarkable pace in Asia. This is no surprise, as the Sanlorenzo brand is an excellent fit for yacht owners looking for a bespoke yacht from a renowned boutique Italian shipyard. Sanlorenzo’s low production numbers ensure plenty of scope for uniqueness and customisation, which strongly appeals to owners seeking to purchase a very special yacht.

The Sanlorenzo elite club in Hong Kong has recently welcomed all the models from the innovative SX crossover range, as the Sanlorenzo SX76, SX88 and SX112 have arrived in Hong Kong and joined their sisterships based already in town. The months of May and June truly belonged to Sanlorenzo SX yachts!

Arriving first on the same ship, the Sanlorenzo SX76 and SX88 have been commissioned by our dedicated Sanlorenzo Asia Service team and are ready for their summer adventures with their proud owners.

The first model from the SX range, the SX76, has been sold to Hainan under the new attractive Free Trade Port (FTP) Policy and Simpson Marine Sanya’s yacht broker Rachel Ma is particularly satisfied with this process.

She comments: “I’m very proud to see the second Sanlorenzo SX76 sold to Sanya in a short span of time. As a result of Hainan’s new Free Trade Port policies that grant foreign yachts access to China with no need for the heavy tax to be paid, we have seen a tremendous increase in the yachting activity on the island. The owner of this particular Sanlorenzo SX76 took advantage of this new scheme and also of the quick delivery to Asia. With the global demand for Sanlorenzo, we were fortunate to secure a delivery slot and satisfy this owner who was looking for something truly bespoke and the exclusivity of owning a Sanlorenzo yacht. We expect the yacht to arrive in Sanya in early summer, allowing the owners to enjoy their summer holidays on the island.”

In Asia, the Sanlorenzo SX76 has enjoyed particular success with its convenient size for a large family and a superb ‘terrace at sea’ concept. There are several SX76s now based in Hong Kong and frequently out at sea on the weekends.

The second model in the fleet, the Sanlorenzo’s SX88 is the first original model in the SX line that kickstarted the crossover concept back in 2017. This yacht offers an amazing amount of space and liveable areas with superb exterior decks and an already iconic aft platform for toys and tenders.

Tom Allen, the Simpson Marine broker handling the sale of this yacht, shares his insights on this notable delivery: “After selling a second-hand Sanlorenzo to my clients in 2018, I was elated in 2021 to sign a contract with the same husband and wife team for a new build SX88. This couple worked hand in hand with our team in Hong Kong and our counterparts in Italy to customise a few areas of the yacht. A year after signing the contract, now that the yacht has safely arrived and been handed over in Hong Kong, I’m happy to say the results are magnificent. Some notable highlights, best suited to the family’s usage style, include a media room in place of one bedroom, and a massive dining room with more than enough space for a 10-seater round dining table. Beautiful furniture in the saloon and some pops of designer Paola Lenti colour on the flybridge really add the finishing touches to this amazing new yacht.”

Finally, the grand finale of the arrivals from the SX series was the delivery to Hong Kong of the second unit of a Sanlorenzo SX112, the flagship of the crossover range. She arrived in early June, right on time for the beautiful and active summer on the water in Hong Kong.

The Sanlorenzo SX112 “represents the consolidation of the line” and “embodies a new way of living on the sea,” said the Sanlorenzo yard.

Speaking about the yacht, Bernardo Zuccon from Zuccon Project International, which was in charge of its exterior lines, said: “This is a product for those who truly love the sea, which combines an innovative crossover type of living space with traditional layout balances, including the ‘must have’ features the market demands today, even on vessels of a more compact size.”

Key areas include the bow area of the main deck, which is dedicated to entertainment and relaxation. Guest accommodation sits on the lower deck, comprising three large cabins; one owner’s cabin and two VIPs. A lounge area can be converted into an extra cabin, either double or twin.

Handling the sale and assisting the owners with the purchase process through selection, design and delivery was Simpson Marine Hong Kong-based broker Windie Tsoi who shares her experience in working on this unique project:

“It’s been a year since we had our last design meeting, and I was delighted to finally welcome the yacht to Hong Kong! The owner selected playful colours for both the interior and exterior furniture. The saloon looks impressive with the staircase in glass connecting to the dining area, and this will be an area owner enjoys using a lot! Each and every piece of marble on board was selected by the owner who sees the marble as art and an expression of their personality. With the owner, we arranged a virtual visit to the marble supplier’s facility where we were shown each individual slab to choose from. The entire build journey has been a memorable one and we are all very excited for the arrival into Hong Kong.”

Handling such a bespoke project has required a significant amount of time to ensure all is perfectly planned and executed and Windie recalls the experience with great satisfaction:

“The SX112 is the largest in the SX range so far.  This is a range that has been very popular since the first SX88 was launched in 2016 – nowadays you can always see an SX out on the waterFor this particular build, I have been very proud to work with the owner who appreciates Sanlorenzo’s new technologies and innovations.  Having the trust of the owner motivates us to ensure that we deliver the best yacht experience for them – this, for me, is the biggest satisfaction. I am thankful also to the Sanlorenzo team –  Nick Stratton, VP of Sales, for his extended support on the sales and build side, and our exceptional service colleagues headed up by Marko Stojanovic for their great after-sales support. It is this great team that allows a Sanlorenzo owner to really enjoy their ownership experience.”

With a professional and dedicated Sanlorenzo Asia team led by Nick Stratton, VP of Sales at Sanlorenzo Asia, Simpson Marine’s team of brokers across Asia receive professional support and close shipyard follow-ups for each and every project, ensuring a unique ownership journey for all customers.

Nick Stratton comments: “It’s always an exciting moment to see the new yachts arrive. This arrival is the result of what can easily be one to two years of planning. To see the commissioning docks full and the Sanlorenzo’s service team hard at work is a satisfying sight – even after many years, watching a new yacht come together and deliver to its owner is always a great buzz. The Sanlorenzo SX range is simply incredible – here we see a model from each size, namely the 76, 88 and 112, and with each size, there is something to be admired. All the yachts share impressive characteristics, be it the generous beam, the air-conditioned flybridges, the huge open plan living spaces and each yacht the owners’ own design personalities. These are yachts that can really bring so much to the yachting experience and are undoubtedly why the SX range continues to dominate the market”

With the summer upon us, we are certain to see these distinctive yachts out at sea on most days and weekends and we wish their owners many happy times on board!
