Beneteau Announces New Oceanis 40.1 and Oceanis Yacht 54 Models

Beneteau has recently added to their wide range of luxury cruising yachts with the introduction of the new Oceanis 40.1 and Oceanis Yacht 54 models.

The Oceanis 40.1 distinguishes itself with a surprising amount of space on deck and volume below, while the Oceanis Yacht 54 re-invents movement in the cockpit and sets a new standard in terms of build quality, ergonomics, and trim options. Both yachts display the signature Oceanis features that continue to redefine the pleasures of cruising life.

Oceanis 40.1

The Oceanis 40.1 blends comfort and performance with her innovative flared hull design and steps that extend over a third of the bow. This results in a stiff hull that has great speed potential yet delivers a poised and comfortable ride in any conditions. Her deck plan and ultra-spacious interior designed by Nauta Design give the feeling of being on board a much larger yacht.

The model is available in several versions in order to meet the individual preference of sailors. The First line version comes with a longer mast and greater draught for performance driven sailors. A standard mast for a semi full battened mainsail is also available. Interior configurations come in four different layout options with a choice of two basic types of woodwork: walnut or floated oak.

She is easy to sail and spacious on deck with ingeniously laid out spaces. The transom coverts to an electrically or manually operated swim platform, while the twin rudders with textile linkage to the wheels provide unparalleled comfort and precision for sailors in all conditions. The stem head guarantees maximum efficiency for the downwind sails and for handling the anchor and chain.

Fit for everyone’s idea of life onboard, the Oceanis 40.1 comes in four different versions of two, three, and four cabins. The many hull and coachroof portholes, as well as the hatches, fill the boat with natural light and ventilation, making her exceptionally bright and airy.

Oceanis Yacht 54

Reinventing the traditional central cockpit, the Oceanis Yacht 54 features cutting-edge technology including: Ship Control (a simple interface that accesses all the boat’s systems); Dock&Go (joystick harbour-side manoeuvring); and Harken’s AST (automatic sail trimming) – allowing free flow movement, ample seating areas and safety throughout.

This innovative cockpit layout makes movement around the yacht easy and safe. Passage from the companionway down the centreline to the side-decks is unimpeded, and transit to the foredeck is made safe by the boat’s high bulwarks and lifelines, as well as the generous width of the catwalks. Access to the sea is provided by the expansive swim platform which, once deployed, reveals space below the cockpit for stowing away a 2.4m inflatable tender.

The Oceanis Yacht 54 is also easy to manoeuvre with Beneteau equipping her with invaluable easy sailing navigational aids. Ship Control is standard on the yacht and provides user-friendly intuitive control of all the boat data and components (batteries, tanks, engines, lighting, etc.). The well-proven Dock&Go system is also available to facilitate engine-powered manoeuvres in a limited space, using a straightforward joystick control which operates a bow drive and a 360° rotating saildrive pod. The model is available with two different draughts (2.5m as standard, 1.96m on option) and two types of masts (standard or furling). Easy sailing will make all manoeuvres easier and allows owners to enjoy the real pleasure of sailing.

The interior of the Oceanis Yacht 54 comes with two colour options – light oak or walnut interior and a warm modern atmosphere that includes natural light and ventilation. The interior layout includes a chart desk and large saloon table which accommodates six adults. The two layout versions include: three cabins and two heads, or three cabins and three heads. Beneteau’s attention to detail is reflected in the Oceanis Yacht 54’s top quality upholstery, wood linings and lighting.

Both the Oceanis 40.1 and Oceanis Yacht 54 are a clear demonstration of Beneteau’s gold standard in the cruising yacht market. Each yacht displays signature Oceanis features that continue to redefine the pleasures of the cruising life.
