Bluegame going from strength to strength in Asia as the BGX70 arrives in Hong Kong

Bluegame Asia, represented by Simpson Marine, is delighted to have welcomed the all new Bluegame yacht – the BGX70 – to Hong Kong. Since its arrival in mid-November this stunning vessel has enjoyed an overwhelming amount of interest from yacht owners and buyers who rushed to see her immediately upon her arrival.

A new style of navigation that puts the precious bond between man and the sea at center stage, thanks to innovation, sustainability and authenticity, combined with a precise entrepreneurial vision. These are the values of Bluegame, a brand of unique yachts, from 42 to 72 feet, that has transformed the market with its original mix of different characteristics and unprecedented layouts, daring to embrace mixed marriages between beautiful and practical, style and comfort, elegance and high performance, seizing the opportunities of the present to create the trends of the future.

Bluegame is proudly a brand of Sanlorenzo since 2018, when the Shipyard decided to incorporate Bluegame and, with the CEO Carla Demaria, transformed the shrewd intuition of its founder, the architect and Olympic sailor Luca Santella, into a successful brand on a global level. The driving force of Sanlorenzo brought further growth to the historic BG range, an unconventional line of products that combine the finest characteristics of open, fisherman, day cruiser, walk-around yachts, developing the revolutionary niches of “unexpected at sea” BG and BGX yachts.

Comfortable and safe navigation, under any weather conditions are also essential features: the hull, created in collaboration with the naval architect Lou Codega, renowned for his high-performance designs, stands out for its perfect balance of weights and volumes, setting the yacht’s center of gravity so as to achieve exceptional handling and guaranteed safety.

The exterior lines of BGX are the result of a deep research conducted with Zuccon International Project, designers of prize-winning models for Sanlorenzo. The studio has also designed the interiors, organized in a spatial continuum with the outdoors: eliminating all barriers, every space welcomes and benefits from the contact with the sea, making navigation an immersive, satisfying experience.

The first Bluegame models, including the BG42 and BG62, made their debut to great acclaim. These were followed by the “unexpected” and truly unconventional BGX70 and BGX60. The award-winning BX70 is currently the biggest model in Bluegame’s BGX range. Winner of the “most avant-garde yacht” at Cannes Yachting Festival 2019 and “Power Yacht of the Year” at Boote Dusseldorf 2020, the inspirational BGX70 is a real head-turner. A surprising layout with continuity of spaces to allow a constant relationship between the yachtsmen and the sea. The engine room disappears at the stern, in the space below the wide beach club, providing a large, unified area that erases indoor-outdoor barriers, generating a natural dialogue between them. Functional, safe deck maneuvers and the high-performance hull remain as the outstanding features of these Bluegame yachts.

At 21.86m (71’7”), the seaworthy BGX70 sleeps six plus two crew, and reaches top speeds of 30kn+.

The BGX70 brings the inside out and features a clever “owner-centric”  layout that includes the option to turn two thirds of the interior into a private owner’s space – she is the only yacht of her size on the market with this opportunity. The enclosed flybridge pilot house is another impressive feature that delivers 360° visibility. Direct access from the beach area into the salon and owner’s cabin enhances the sensation of seamless circulation, with its forward position making it the most comfortable area on the yacht.

Confirming the “wow” effect that the BGX70 had on the visiting guests at her private preview in Hong Kong, another Bluegame – the BG62 – has been commissioned into Hong Kong and is set to arrive in March 2021.

“There are some yachts that when you walk down the pontoon to board for the day your heart races a little faster. The Bluegame BGX70 is one of those. Such an exciting, uniquely different and immensely practical yacht. It fascinates everyone that steps on board with its incredible layout – maximising all of the spaces, bringing you closer to the water and changing the way you use the yacht. It’s a firm favourite amongst the team and we expect to see many cruising in Asia in the years to come”, says Nick Stratton, Bluegame Asia Sales Manager.

Carla Demaria, CEO of Bluegame, comments: “We are extremely excited about the welcome received by the BGX70 in Asia, followed by the sale of the first BG 62. I would like to thank Simpson Marine for this performance, which is only the first link in a long chain. Bluegame yachts, designed for expert yachtsmen, combined with the expertise and experience of Simpson Marine, will not disappoint the  high demanding customers of the Asian market”.

The 18.8m (61’6”) BG62 is an impressive walk-around yacht that delivers generous and exquisitely styled living spaces both inside and out. The BG range fully reflects the seagoing experiences of the founder of the brand, Luca Santella, now in charge of the design of both the BG and the BGX series. BG represents a synthesis of design vision and the authenticity of living on the sea without compromises, in complete autonomy, thanks to a functional, efficient boat that is the only one of its kind on the market. The innovative layout and extreme customization allow to equip the boat with professional sports gear, while at the same time offering triple sunbathing areas as a key feature of life on board. The large living area can host up to eight people, while the nighttime zone can be set up with two double or twin cabins. The stern zone can be organized for one or two crew members, or as a large storage area.

As safe as she is stylish, the BG62’s well thought out length allows owners to cruise in autonomy, without the need for a crew. Powered by twin Volvo Penta 1000HP IPS engines, she will deliver an exhilarating maximum speed of 38 knots.

The Bluegame adventure in Asia is only just beginning and judging by the initial reactions to the BGX70, Bluegame looks set to be just as successful as its prestigious parent company Sanlorenzo.
