X-SPACE

A length of 44 metres, five decks and a tonnage of 495 GT, extraordinary volumes for a yacht of this size. X-Space is designed for expert owners who love to explore faraway destinations, without relinquishing the unmistakable elegance of Sanlorenzo’s lines.

The perfect encounter between Explorers and classic navettas.

The large aft area is an open-air living room that can be extended by another 18 sqm thanks to the folding balconies, and which is connected to the living area inside.

Key Features

Starting from the stern, rather than a beach club which has been gaining popularity in recent years, the X-Space features an 18 square-metre raised pool, level with the main deck, that blocks the view onto the yacht from the stern and ensures privacy. Moving forward, guests can enjoy an expansive terrace, extendable on either side of with hydraulic platforms, expanding the space by a further 18 square-metres.

This area is uniquely dynamic, sun beds and tables can be rearranged to suit the owners preferences, and there are multiple pockets of space that can be used individually, or together. From this terrace, symmetrical stairs lead up to the owners aft deck, a large hanging terrace which looks over the main deck and is clad in teak deck, floor-to-ceiling. Owners in search of added privacy can turn this area into the main social space, away from the prying eyes of passing yachts and tourists.

This upper deck is dedicated exclusively to the owner, acting as a ‘yacht within the yacht’, stepping inside the glass doors, there is a large lounge, leading through the office, and onto the bedroom. From here curved glass doors lead out onto the foredeck, privately accessed and enclosed, with a large jacuzzi and lounge area.

Above the owners deck is the helm station, but the superstructure has been designed so that crew operating the vessel are unable to see onto the owners deck at the bow, adding to the sense of complete privacy.

Bernardo Zuccon of Zuccon International Project has worked closely with the shipyard to complete this unique exterior design. He commented, “I think it has never been so important as it has in this project to seek to identify with the owner, who will be the great commander of this boat, hence the desire to create an entire deck dedicated to their needs. This is a solution that is normally found on larger boats and it shows that this is a yacht where the owner will have the great luxury of being able to spend a lot of time on board. I’ve always thought that architecture is the primary tool to allow man to live better, and in this case the X-Space project was born with the desire not to create a wonderful floating structure, but to create a wonderful vessel for life.”

On the interior of the main deck is situated the saloon and dining room, complete in light and rich fabrics. Piero Lissoni has penned the design, and he commented, “The X-SPACE has been forced to become a boat almost entirely made of glass: there are large panes of glass, large windows and some of the cabins no longer even have portholes but glass walls. The interior has forced its hand on the exterior and the exterior has been so elastic and so well designed that the interior has almost adapted itself in a totally natural way. I think this is the most innovative language I’ve seen on a super yacht to date and it has made it possible to create a compact boat but with extraordinary proportions and the unique quality of Sanlorenzo.”

The design of the superyacht has been carefully arranged to accentuate the relationship between the interior and exterior spaces, and the first hull of the series is due for delivery in 2023.
