First Sanlorenzo SX76 Successfully Sold in Hainan’s Free Trade Port, Adding to a Growing SX Fleet in Asia

The Sanlorenzo SX76, a very successful model in Asia, has fast become one of the most iconic yachts in the region, particularly Hong Kong where several units have been delivered to owners. Each unit has its own bespoke look and feel, with individualized interior designs that are perfectly in line with the Sanlorenzo ‘made to measure’ philosophy that allows owners to customize their boat to be a home away from home.

Now, the sale of another SX76 has recently been concluded for delivery into Hainan’s resort city of Sanya. Sanya’s special Free Trade Port (FTP) benefits owners as there is no tax policy while a boat is operating as a charter vessel in China.

Hainan’s Free Trade Port is set to be one of the most open and internationalized zones in the region. It is trade and investment‑friendly, boasts a robust legal regime, maintains a comprehensive financial services sector, and demonstrates safe and efficient oversight. A very appealing overall package for yachting.

At present it is envisaged that tourism and the modern service and high‑tech industries will be the Hainan FTP’s development priorities. In those areas of the FTP, under special customs supervision, systemic investment and trade liberalisation measures will be implemented. Meanwhile the launch of businesses related to international investment and trade, bonded logistics and marine operations, bonded repair services and several other relevant sectors will be encouraged.

Yachting is one of the sectors that will benefit from the business-friendly FTP policies and Simpson Marine has officially registered its operations within the Port business zone, allowing the company to import yachts into Hainan and Sanya, benefiting from the Zero Tax Policy.
