Sanlorenzo listed as one of the 1000 Italian Champions in Business

A study conducted by the research team of ItalyPost for the Economics pages of Corriere della Sera has identified 1000 Italian companies with sales from 20 to 500 million euros, which from 2012 to 2018 have excelled in terms of growth, profitability and financial solidity.

Sanlorenzo has been included in the list of 1000 Champions among Italian companies reporting sales from 20 to 500 million euros, for outstanding performance from 2012 to 2018, as identified by the third analysis of the world of small-medium businesses conducted by the research team of ItalyPost for the Economics section of the newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Published today as a preview, the analysis sets out to identify the best companies with constant growth over this six-year period, with above-average profitability in the principal sectors driving the Italian economic rebound, thanks to customization of products, organizational flexibility, management of human resources, investments in production and the use of technologies 4.0.

With four production sites in La Spezia, Ameglia, Viareggio and Massa, the Sanlorenzo shipyards have built motoryachts of the highest quality for over 60 years, as the result of a combination of fine craftsmanship, design and advanced technologies, made to measure to meet the specific needs of the client. With determination, courage and entrepreneurial vision, Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of the firm, relying on extensive experience in the nautical world, has been able to propose a new way of experiencing the sea, through Sanlorenzo, introducing remarkable innovations that have profoundly changed the world of yachting.

One of the world’s leading producers of yachts and superyachts from 24 to 70 meters long, Sanlorenzo – a company listed on the MTA of Borsa Italiana – has gone through years of extraordinary growth, bringing consolidated net revenues new yachts to a level of 40 million euros in 2004 to 455,9 million euros in 2019.

“Sanlorenzo has registered over the years a positive performance and constant growth thanks to its uniqueness in the global market of luxury yachts. Even in the darkest hour for worldwide shipbuilding, such as the 2008-2014 period, we have managed to emerge without losing sales and without reducing staff. Our business model has made this possible: we have just one brand, and we build boats to measure for a selected, expert clientele that knows our products and those of the competition,” says Massimo Perotti, Executive Chairman of Sanlorenzo.

An unstoppable rise that has taken the company into the upper echelons of the yachting world, with 57 yachts sold in 2019 and consolidated income from the sale of new yachts at 455.9 million euros (+39.3% over 327.3 million in 2018), where 60% of orders arrive from Europe, 20% from the United States, 16% from Asia and 4% from the Middle East.

To further confirm the results achieved, the annual ranking of the Global Order Book 2020, prepared by the English yachting magazine Boat International, indicates Sanlorenzo as one of the three top shipyards in the world for the production of yachts and superyachts, and the leading monobrand shipyard. Every year, this ranking offers a progress report on the international yachting sector, for boats over 24 meters in length.
