Lagoon Organises Dealer and Client Sea Trials in Port Ginestra, with Sea Trials on New Lagoon 51

The Lagoon shipyard recently commenced its Lagoon 51 Summer Mediterranean tour after its long-awaited release to eager clients and worldwide dealers. Brand dealers and clients travelled from around the world to Port Ginestra in Barcelona, Spain, to attend meetings and sea trails of the entire fleet including the new exciting and sustainability oriented Lagoon 51.

The much-anticipated Lagoon 51 set sail this summer in Port Ginestra for her summer tour. She will be cruising the Mediterranean Sea from 9 June to 8 August with 10 stopovers, from Barcelona to Ajaccio via Menton and San Remo. Bearing the name “Sailing for Change”, this catamaran reflects the values of the Lagoon brand, and proposes an eco-responsible approach to boating.

The Lagoon 51 reveals an optimised circulation on board, with great fluidity of movement. This is a new model with an upgraded layout offering sustainable solutions. The flybridge is optimized to occupy 80% of the roof with two large sunpads at the front of the helm station and a huge C-shaped seating area. The central table can be lowered to create an XL sunbathing area.

Two stairs lead to the flybridge, one for the helmsman and one for the guests. This double access allows a great fluidity of connection between the living spaces of the boat. This convivial space is appreciated at anchor but also during navigation. Thanks to full headroom in the flybridge, it can be safely used underway. Manoeuvres are easily undertaken from the steering station, while the guests can walk around without disturbing the helmsman. The flybridge of the Lagoon 51 is innovative thanks to the modularity of its spaces, its clever ergonomics, and the cosiness of this great living area.

The large and wide transoms provide a safe and practical access to the dock side. In association with the Tenderlift, this represents a super large balcony by the sea. When moored, this large bathing platform is an invitation to swim and relax with your feet in the water.

Thanks to the mast being stepped on the fore end of the saloon, the views are continuous. A great luminosity is delivered thanks to a combination of light from the 360 ° vertical windows, and the new wood finishes of Alpi sand oak.

The Lagoon design teams have reinvented themselves to meet the demands of a new generation of owners. The Lagoon 51 offers the option of XXL solar panels on the roof, and this technology provides more than 3,400 watts of power to operate the onboard service. The boat is therefore able to be fully autonomous (except for the air conditioning) and the solar panels fit perfectly into the lines of the catamaran and do not interfere with life on board.

Lagoon is committed to minimizing its impact on the environment. Sustainable solutions and environment care are an important part of the Lagoon strategy. Initiatives include:

  • Hemp fibre replaces fiberglass wherever possible, together with partially bio sourced resin
  • Upholstery made from recycled fabric is proposed
  • 100% ecological and biodegradable cleaning products are delivered with the boat
  • The proposed Alpi wood is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified
