On 23 January, the 2021 Oceanway China Yacht Awards Ceremony was successfully held online, once again defining most successful and innovative yachts on the market available in China. With our portfolio of world’s best yacht brands, we are very proud that Simpson Marine won multiple awards in some of the most prestigious categories.

After the closing of the voting process and professional selection came the announcement of nearly 100 awards in the 2021 Oceanway China Yacht Awards. The Oceanway China Yacht Awards is an industry leading award ceremony sponsored by Shenzhen Oceanway Yacht Technology, the most professional yachting media platform. The awards began in 2018 and are now held annually, with the awards ceremony happening online in recent years due to the pandemic.

Here is a short recap of the awards received by our brands:

Sanlorenzo: Two Superyacht Awards

Sanlorenzo SD118

The Sanlorenzo SD118 won in the ‘Superyacht of the Year’ in the 30—40m category.  At 35.7 metres in length the SD118 is a semi-displacement yacht that was first launched in 2021. The new Sanlorenzo SD118’s exterior design features a “wide-body hull” and “classic, traditional lines” which are courtesy of Zuccon International Project. This is an exceptional yacht offering great autonomy for lovers of sea life.

Sanlorenzo 62Steel

Sanlorenzo’s 62Steel won ‘Superyacht of the Year’ in the 40-70m category. The 62Steel features five decks and a 1,000-square-foot beach club. The total length is 61.5m, with an 11.9m beam and 1,200 gross tons. The yacht has an elegant and classic design with balanced and harmonious lines, and thanks to the large spaces, innovative layout, and advanced technologies, it ensures excellent comfort and habitability on board that exceeds all other yachts of its size.

Lagoon: The Leader of Catamarans

Lagoon 46

The enduringly popular Lagoon 46 continues to be hot property on the Chinese market, winning the award for the year’s Most Popular Catamaran under 50 feet. In addition the Lagoon SIXTY 7, which has received a huge amount of attention over the past two years, won the Best Design Catamaran Award. The Lagoon SIXTY 7 has a balanced, harmonious, and interconnected spatial layout, as well as extraordinary living and social spaces just like every Lagoon catamaran.

The new 2021 model, the Lagoon 55, won the Best Catamaran of the Year 50 feet and above. The Lagoon 55 offers unparalleled comfort, and the most noteworthy design highlight is the interior overhead window, which affords a magnificent view of the sky. The oversized portholes in the saloon and two special skylights are some of unique advantages of the new model and enhance the characteristics that the Lagoon has always been proud of: space, comfort, stability, modern design, and practical solutions on board.
