Aquila 36 with hydro foils registers 30 percent on fuel economy

Aquila Power Catamarans is proud to introduce the latest innovation and technological marvel on the Aquila 36 – the Aquila Hydro Glide Foil System™. Designed by catamaran and foil specialists Morrelli & Melvin Design & Engineering, the Hydro Glide Foil System is an option on the extremely popular Aquila 36. It enhances the performance, fuel consumption and handling of this already-spectacular catamaran. The hydro-glide foil improves the boat’s miles per gallon by 40 percent, compared to a competitor’s 36-foot power catamaran, and decreases the fuel consumption rate by 37 percent.

The introduction of the hydro-glide provides even more comfort on board. The hydrofoils detach on the ends and slowly glide the boat down, resulting in a gradual up-and-down movement on the yacht when cruising at higher speed. The smart technology is not as sensitive towards weight distribution as usual, resulting in a steady drive without having to feel the boat tipping left and right.
