Charter experience with our team in Phuket – Richard Hou Reports

Chartering is a great way to discover the yachting lifestyle, and this is what our Taiwan-based yacht broker, Richard Hou recommended to his clients before they purchased their first yacht. Richard’s clients decided to enjoy Simpson Marine’s regional office network and chartered a Lagoon catamaran from our Charter office in Phuket. This is what Richard told us afterwards:

“After a late night arrival in Phuket, waking up in the morning on a boat, while being gently rocked by the waves, was a fantastic experience. We all slept very well. We sipped freshly brewed coffee, and jumped into the crystal clear water for a morning refreshment before sitting down to a proper breakfast. What an incredible change from my everyday big-city routine!

We are on the Lagoon 450 Shana in Phuket, and we already know this will be a fantastic trip and a one of a kind holiday.

I thought that chartering a boat would be very expensive, but because we rented Shana during the low green season (from May to October), the price was very reasonable. Additionally, except of a few quick showers, the weather was just perfect. But hey, after the rain comes the sun, right? It did in our case, and with a beautiful rainbow too!

Boating life is a simple and joyful one. We ate, swam, dive, read books, sun-bathed, ate, drank and swam again and again. We visited all the local sea wonders with Phi Phi islands famous for ‘The Beach,’ and we also provisioned the boat there twice with fresh seafood and drinks. Cooking on board is a fun experience as you create your meal with an array of delicious fishes (and the scenery is stunning as well). Sharing these cheerful simple moments together was a precious memory, and provided good time for family bonding.

Will we repeat this? Absolutely yes, and hopefully very soon!”
