Sanlorenzo Nears Completion of the New 62STEEL Superyacht

Sanlorenzo has recently unveiled more details and renderings of an exciting new superyacht under construction, the 61.5 metre 62STEEL.

Bearing a conceptual resemblance to her bigger sister – the 1,600 GT Sanlorenzo 64STEEL Attila – the vessel features the same technical aft platform designed by Sanlorenzo, which can be extended as a base for projects up to 70 metres. With one fewer deck than the 64STEEL, the 1,200 GT 62STEEL sports a more elegant and balanced profile by Mauro Micheli, sacrificing the open sundeck and the extended upper deck found on her bigger sister.

With three 62STEELs already sold, the first hull is scheduled to launch in May 2020, the second in April 2021, while the third will deliver in 2022. The 62STEEL will also be making her eagerly-anticipated worldwide premiere at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2020.

This steel and aluminium superyacht features an elegant, timeless design and combines an innovative layout with advanced technologies. Spread across five decks, the yacht has a massive 1200GT interior and maximum beam of 11.9 metres.

The spacious owner’s apartment is a key feature of the yacht that comprises 210 square metres of living space. It covers 97 square metres of interior space that spreads across the studio, two bathrooms and a walk-in dressing room. The master cabin also leads directly onto a private 123-square-metre terrace with a pool and outdoor lounging area.

Interior layout options include a five- or six- stateroom arrangement for a total of 12 guests, with 14 permanent crew members housed in separate quarters on the lower deck. The beach club is located on the lower deck and features lounge areas, a bar, fitness space and hammam. The main deck aft space is designed to house the yacht’s oversized pool, finished with a glass bottom that allows even more light into the beamy beach club.

This cleverly designed yacht has many other features such as a Jacuzzi plunge pool on the sun deck and a state-of-the-art cinema experience. In addition to the large tenders stored on board, the 62STEEL also comes with a touch-and-go helipad on the flush foredeck for easy guest transfers.
