Hong Kong Ballet and Simpson Marine recently co-hosted an exclusive event that blended the worlds of ballet and luxury yachting. Guests of Simpson Marine had the unique opportunity to watch the last rehearsals of the world premiere of the dazzling new production of Swan Lake from San Francisco Ballet Resident Choreographer Yuri Possokhov before its grand performance. The event took place at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Center.
Behind-the-scenes experience
The private studio visit gave guests an up-close look at the magic of ballet. The dancers glided across the floor with dedication and skill, showcasing their intricate footwork and emotive expressions. It was a rare opportunity to see the inner workings of this captivating art form with the show introduction by the Artistic Director and the choreography directions given by the Ballet Masters throughout the rehearsal.
A toast to artistry
Following the rehearsal, distinguished guests gathered at a cocktail reception. Among those present were Septime Webre, the renowned ballet director of Hong Kong Ballet; Lui Cabrera, Coryphée of Hong Kong Ballet; Yuri Possokhov; and Constantine Allen, principal dancer from Dutch National Ballet. This intimate setting allowed attendees to connect with the brilliant minds behind the show’s production.
