Indonesia Team Promotes Yachting Lifestyle in Bali at INSA Yachting Festival

Benoa Marina Bali came alive from 9 to 11 August 2024, as it hosted the INSA Yacht Festival (IYF) 2024, an event that celebrates the best of Indonesia’s maritime culture. Organised by the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (DPP INSA), the festival was not only a celebration of marine tourism but also aimed to advance Indonesia’s maritime industry.

The INSA Yacht Festival 2024 played the perfect host for the growing community of yacht enthusiasts in Indonesia and contributed to the vibrant future of the country’s maritime industry.

Carmelita Hartoto, Chairperson of DPP INSA, expressed her optimism about the impact of IYF 2024: “We hope that IYF 2024 will open up the potential for developing national marine tourism so that it will encourage national investors to invest in the yacht sector.” She also highlighted the festival’s potential to inspire Indonesians to embrace the sea as part of their lifestyle, positioning the nation’s oceans as a future driver of national development.

The festival aligns with the government’s efforts to boost tourism, which contributed 3.9 to Indonesia’s GDP in 2023 and provided employment for over 24 million people. INSA Secretary General, Darmansyah Tanamas, further stressed the importance of developing Indonesia’s yacht ecosystem. He called for the enhancement of facilities and infrastructure, particularly marinas that meet international standards, to attract yachts from around the world and support the growth of the industry.

With more than 2,500 visitors over three days, and the presence of more than 400 VIP invitees, the IYF 2024 was an event that boosted the popularity of Indonesian marine tourism in the eyes of the world and opened up wider investment opportunities in this sector.
