Launched in unusual circumstances, with the Lagoon shipyard in lock-down due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the much anticipated Lagoon SIXTY 5 Sailing catamaran has hit the water in Bordeaux and is now undergoing technical sea trials with the Lagoon team on board. This new big catamaran has already been sailed a lot by the shipyard’s design office teams who came back enthusiastic about the comfort and performance of the SIXTY 5. She was scheduled to launch at La Grand Motte Multihull Boat Show 2020, which has been cancelled due to the current global situation, and is now being prepared to premiere at the Cannes International Boat Show in September instead.
A worthy heir to the long-time Lagoon jewel, the 620, the SIXTY 5 is set to become a reference point for sailing yachts over 60 feet. As stated by Patrick Le Quement, her exterior designer, the new SIXTY 5 sailing catamaran is a beautiful boat with generous dimensions for utmost living comfort and easy accommodation of quality riggings and powerful sails. Her well-proportioned silhouette with sleek profile and lines is a mix of the traditional Lagoon accent with a modern touch. The interiors are bright and abundant as is typical of all Lagoon catamaran models.
