Pattaya Boat Show closes on a high note with MCY96 the star of the show

In the last week of November, our Thailand team participated in the 8th edition of the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show. This year the show announced a record turnout of more than 6,500 visitors from more than 20 countries. Many of these visitors came especially to view our fleet which included the Beneteau Oceanis 38, Lagoon 42, and the premiering Monte Carlo Yachts 96 (MCY 96).

The Monte Carlo Yachts 96 was a particular crowd favourite as she was making her Asian premiere, and also had the prestige of being the largest yacht on display. Her striking blue hull stood out amongst the numerous white yachts at the show. This award-winning “Best Flybridge Yacht” at the 2018 Asia Boating Award and “Best International Motor Yacht in the 24-30M category” is a stand out design thanks to its smooth lines, high bow and deceptively low profile which give its external profile a timeless, contemporary allure that is a natural evolution of the iconic MCY line.

To celebrate her Asia premiere, Simpson Marine Thailand threw an MCY 96 cocktail party on the second night of the show, where our distinguished guests were able to tour the yacht while enjoying champagne, canapes and a jazz band playing in the background. The interior of the MCY96 was transformed to a Venetian theme, transporting us back in time to when she made her worldwide debut in Venice earlier in the year.

Another notable display was the new Lagoon 42. Her sleek and modern ergonomic design, which allows her captain to have direct communication with the cockpit and saloon below, has proved to be a family favourite. Her bimini top provides protection from sun, while a sliding panel in the top still gives a great view of sails above. This “Best Sailing Catamaran” winner at the Asia Boating Awards 2016 saw many visitors over the course of four days. All visitors had positive feedback on the interior space of this striking Lagoon 42 and her comfortable guest accommodation.

Last, but not least, is the award-winning sailboat, the Beneteau Oceanis 38. Recognised for its high performance, safe cruising and chic design inside and out, many avid sailing enthusiasts were requesting to view her. Her excellent stability and smooth sailing have made her a popular choice for sailors around Asia.

The event concluded on a high note with many guests enjoying their viewings with us and planning for their future yachting journey in Asia. Contact our team at thailand@simpsonmarine.com for all enquiries related to boating in Thailand.
