Sanlorenzo’s strong ties to the modern art and design worlds are widely known in the yachting industry and form a core part of their brand and main values. The Simpson Marine Malaysia team, representing Sanlorenzo, recently partnered with Robb Report Malaysia and AIRA Residences on a modern art exhibition that presented works of Malaysian born and bred artist Liew Kwai Fei.
Liew Kwai Fei’s Light & Space was one of the two installations on display at the event. Light & Space hints at the non-physical and the transcendental while the Chinese title, 得意忘形 complements the former by referring to the attainment of a higher state of mind when one transgresses form. Deriving from the Latin prefix trans-, meaning “beyond,” and the word scandare, meaning “to climb,” transcendence implies an achievement or a state of being beyond ordinary and physical limitations.
Revisiting his interest in colour blocks and abstract forms to present a series of work, The Art Of Painting, Liew Kwai Fei bridges the Western and Eastern histories into his painting.
Distinguished guests were treated to a night of fine art and design sophistication contemplating fine art, fine design and striking Sanlorenzo yachts presented at the event.
Our Malaysia team presented on Sanlorenzo’s reputation and expertise as a custom motoryacht builder renowned for its design and advanced technologies, with guests enjoying the relaxed and classy setting. It was a night of high artistry at its finest.
