Sanlorenzo SX88 unveiled and awarded in Cannes

It was a busy Cannes Yachting Festival for Sanlorenzo, with nine yachts on display presenting the full planing SL range (78-118 feet) and semi-displacement SD range (92-126 feet) with the newcomer to family, the new SX range with the first launched SX88. This new premiere model is presented as a crossover yacht between the SD and Explorer ranges, sporting an extended aft deck for various water toys (in this case: a 4.6m tender, jet ski and a sea bob) and a flexible main deck layout imagined as a fully open space, or featuring a master cabin, and showcasing impressive visibility thanks to floor to ceiling main deck windows. The helm station is located on the air-conditioned flybridge, which can be fully enclosed with electric windows.

The new yacht model was presented during an elegant gala dinner for Sanlorenzo Brand Representatives and Media in the iconic Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc where a press conference was held for the attending media and a nighttime unveiling was performed. The silver coloured yacht emerged from the darkness and cruised alongside the hotel terrace with a beautiful light show and could be fully visited the next day, from the first day of the show. We were impressed with the SX88’s design features and technological solutions (enclosable flybridge, pod propulsion, carbon fibre superstructure), and were even more impressed with her eco-friendly side including low fuel consumption and emissions, green plus certification, glass UV film protection and air-con power optimisation.

With all these innovative features in mind, it is of no wonder that the Yacht won the “Most avant-garde yacht” prize at the World Yacht Trophies in Cannes, awarded to the most innovative yacht of the year – the SX88.

The yacht is set to become one of the best sellers of the year with seven units sold off the drawing boards, even before her official premiere.
