Successful sea trials of the first Figaro Beneteau 3 in Hong Kong – watch sea trial video with sailors’ testimonies

On 23 to 24 November we undertook extensive sea trials of the first Figaro Beneteau 3 (FB3) into Asia. The feedback we received on this innovative racing boat from the local sailors, yacht owners and pro sailors who spent time on board was all incredibly positive. Recurring comments included praise for the easy handling, fast acceleration and fast speeds, light weight and the capacity for fun on the water. We were honoured to sail with America’s Cup crew and members of the Volvo Ocean Race Dongfeng team, as well as international, Chinese and Hong Kong owners, which helped to give us a diverse scope of feedbacks and experiences.

The FB3 is Beneteau’s new and highly sought after production racing boat that is manufactured by Beneteau for the famous La Solitaire du Figaro regatta. Only five slots for private owners were released in the first batch of 55 yachts, with our Asian slot sold into Taiwan. The next batch of 55 units will be released in January 2019 and will only be for the owners racing in the 2019 edition of the regatta.
