Taiwan’s most prominent regatta, the 2022 Penghu Regatta, was held from 23-27 June in the Penghu Islands, Taiwan’s western archipelago. There were over 160 participants and 25 boats taking part including three Beneteau yachts presented by Simpson Marine owners. These were the Beneteau First 40, Oceanis 51.1 and Oceanis 45.
The race began with the Round the Island race in Hujing Island. Hujing Island is rated as one of the top 10 mysterious islands by the world-renowned travel magazine Lonely Planet, and sailors were able to explore the mystery and wonder of this special destination while cruising.
County Mayor Lai Fengwei attended the event and noted that the ocean and wind in Penghu are very suitable for sailing competitions. The county government attaches great importance to the promotion of water sports and is expanding the space of the Guanyin Pavilion Sailing Training Centre with enhanced equipment. The mayor hopes that more people will devote themselves to watersports and enjoy the leisure of the ocean, and we at Simpson Marine support this goal.
We congratulate our Beneteau First 40 owner (A Good Day), and Beneteau Oceanis 45 (Tan Tan) for winning the Champion in IRC Division and Racing A division respectively.
