Taiwan team building up sailing culture at Taiwan Boat Show

Held on 15-18 March in Kaohsiung, the 3rd edition of the Taiwan International Boat Show was a good occasion to showcase our growing brands portfolio and supporting services with charter and yacht maintenance. We presented the luxury motoryacht Monte Carlo 6 and a sailing boat Oceanis 38.1, and we had a non-stop flow of guests curious about these great boats and the yachting lifestyle. The Simpson Marine hospitality stand was also visited by a local government delegation with the President of Taiwan External Trade Development Council investigating the yachting industry and collecting ideas and suggestions on how to further grow the local boating industry. Simpson Marine’s Taiwan division opened in 2013 and is now led by Tony Chen, one of Taiwan’s most prominent sailors and the co-founder of the Penghu Regatta. We have offices in Taipei, Kaohsiung and Penghu.

Tony and his team have greatly contributed to the growth of sailing culture in Taiwan, which has opened its regulations to sailing merely a few years ago. Having sold several Beneteau and Lagoon sailboats to the country, Tony organizes regular regatta sailing and sailing gatherings in the North and South of Taiwan, and the next one will be held on 24 March offering sea trials on the beautiful and big Oceanis 60.

If you would like to take part in these sea trials and meet the team, please contact us at Taiwan@simpsonmarine.com
