Thailand Lagoon Escapade – The Best One Yet – Takes Place in Phuket

The 2022 Lagoon Escapade in Thailand, held from 14 to 16 October was a massive success and saw a great turnout of Lagoon owners.

Many of our esteemed Lagoon owners spent the weekend with us, enjoying a scenic cruise through the waters of Phang Nga Bay, Koh Yao Noi, and Hong Island.

The diverse fleet was made up of a Lagoon 620, Lagoon 560, two Lagoon 52Fs, Lagoon 450, Lagoon 421, three Lagoon 42s, two Lagoon 400s, a Lagoon 40 and a Lagoon 380.

Departing from Ao Po Grand Marina after the welcome reception where the captain’s brief was held, the Simpson Marine team lead the sail up to Koh Roi for an afternoon of leisure activities. Though it was overcast as the flotilla headed out from the marina, the sky eventually cleared as we approached the stunning sights of Phang Nga Bay. After lunch, and some fun with the water toys, the team sailed onwards to Koh Yao Noi where we anchored for a relaxing wind-down BBQ dinner on the beach. Guests were treated to dinner and dancing, while having the opportunity to bond with fellow Lagoon owners.

The second day of fun continued with sailing to Hong Island, Krabi, where guests enjoyed another leisurely afternoon of fun in the sun with kayaks, inflatables, and water scooters. A professional photography team was also present to capture all these treasured moments of fun in the sun.

In the evening, guests were treated to a beautiful red, blue, and white themed buffet dinner at Melina’s Villas, where all Lagoon owners got to socialise, play volleyball on the beach, or dance the night away with French-inspired tunes. A special fire show was also prepared as a surprise, and it was a spectacular show that captivated the guests. While the weather threatened to dampen the evening’s festivities, the guests had a phenomenal time, and five lucky owners also walked away with prizes for “Best Dressed Male”, “Best Dressed Female”, “Best Navigated Boat”, “Best Presented Boat” and “Best Water Toy User”, which was a great way to end the evening’s festivities.

On the last day, Lagoon owners started the morning with a complimentary breakfast and guided kayaking tour around Ao Thalane Mangroves. As the Lagoon Escapade came to an end, the owners bid each other a fond farewell, and group photos were taken before the sail back to Ao Po Grand Marina.

What better way to introduce potential Lagoon owners to the yachting lifestyle than to take them on the famous Lagoon Escapade? It was truly the highlight event of the year for Lagoon owners, and we look forward to the next Lagoon Escapade Thailand in 2023.
