Figaro 3 Premieres in Taiwan and hands over to her new owner

On December 15 to 16 2018, the new Figaro Beneteau 3 (FB3), the first mass-produced hydrofoil monohull sailing boat in the world, was launched and tested in Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s home port.

The FB3 arrived in Hong Kong in early October and undertook its first sea trials in Hong Kong in November. She was then delivered to Taiwan by Tony Chen, Country Manager of Simpson Marine Taiwan and well-known Taiwanese sailing professional. Simpson Marine hosted the handover ceremony for the first lucky Asian owner of the FB3 on Saturday 14 December. Nearly 50 owners and sailing enthusiasts were invited to experience one of the best sailing yachts in the world. The boat is easy to manoeuvre and very smart, with the stability that is provided by the innovative foil impressing the guests a lot.

In addition to the sea trial, the Simpson Marine Taiwan team also prepared delicious barbecues and drinks for the guests. With the Christmas decorations up, this event felt like a Christmas party, allowing all the guests to celebrate the holiday season together.
