Aquila 36 by William Woon, Senior Broker Malaysia

It’s my pleasure to introduce the Aquila 36, designed by J&J Design Group and built by Sino Eagle and Marine Max. This is a good choice for people wanting to upgrade and first timers keen to embrace the boating lifestyle. Simpson Marine has the Aquila 36 available for immediate delivery in Hong Kong.

This is an excellent vessel for coastal cruising, short overnight trips or fishing, with a top speed of 33 knots. Aquila offers a premium fishing package or basic packages great for entertainment. It’s powered by twin 300hp Mercury Verado four-stroke fuel petrol engines, but buyers have the option to change to a  Mercury Verado 350 or 250hp when ordering.

The Aquila 36 also offers easy joystick docking, so novice boaters can easily berth their vessel and look good. The power boat hull design’s reverse chines reduces spray, while the hull is designed to allow an air cushion to develop at speed, softening the ride and improving performance and fuel efficacy. The hydrofoil system is a new development by Aquila, introduced to give boat owners an option for increasing speed and efficiency by a third. It’s an easy-to-install option made from high-quality aluminium that does not increase the vessel’s draft.

You’ll be amazed how much boat you get for your money with this power catamaran. It can accommodate a built-in induction stove, wash basin, a fridge, option to install an electrical barbecue stove and has plenty of space compared to other vessels of the same size. There’s a large bow sitting area, good cockpit layout with dual seating on starboard and port side, and under-seat storage space. The access doors on the starboard and port sides offer ease of boarding and disembarking the vessel.

The aft swim platform is a good size, so you can throw in a fishing line, jump in for a swim or check the engines from time to time. The platform comes with another access door.

The Aquila 36’s cockpit is covered by a large hard-top roof with a reinforced fibreglass top and integrated fiberglass arch as a standard. It shades most of the cockpit area, complete with two opening hatches. The standard option is a half-size windshield. We advise a full-size windshield and solid block-off door if you want air-conditioning in the cockpit area. You also have the option to have an Isinglass (soft covers) or glass door for cockpit aft. Also integrated with LED lights makes the interior feel modern and plush. Look out for LED-lighted cup holders in sitting areas around the vessel.

She has two cabins with mirrored design and layout, one on starboard and one to port, and comfortably sleeps four people. There’s also tropicalised air-conditioning, an ensuite with attached heads and a bathroom with cold and hot water for both.
