Cannes Yachting Festival 2016 – official kick off for the boat show season and a big triumph for MCY

Whoever attended this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival on 6-11 September saw first hand how MCY are growing with a fleet of six  yachts on display including the world premiere of the MCY 80. Beautifully finished in pearl white colour, the MCY 80 power yacht was one of our favourite yachts of the show. The soothing, elegant and tasteful interiors contain ample bright spaces, and combine nicely with wonderfully balanced outdoor decks, designed to enjoy the pleasure of yachting. This harmony of the MCY 80’s interior and exterior represents a step forward in the ever-evolving sophistication of MCY.

Besides this notable premiere, we had a chance to admire Rafael Nadal’s MCY 76. The spacious saloon was ideal for socializing, while the exterior spaces looked perfect for enjoying the Balearic Islands where the yacht is permanently located.

Another Cannes highlight was the new hull of the MCY 105 that, with an especially opulent and rich interior design, represents quite a difference from MCY’s usual modern looks. We also enjoyed seeing firsthand the level of customisation that MCY can undertake. Rather impressive indeed.

On Friday evening, 9 September, MCY organized their traditional cocktail event in Cannes with many guests and yacht owners attending. We very much enjoyed MCY’s famous hospitality and Mike Simpson and Federico Peruccio from MCY spent a good deal of time on the MCY 80 discussing the unique offerings of this fantastic yacht.

Following Cannes, MCY presented their entire fleet at the Genoa Boat Show and the two largest yachts, the MCY 86 and MCY 105 featured at the superyacht rendezvous of the year, the Monaco Yacht Show held in Port Hercules in late September. Besides the yachts on display, MCY built impressive on-site banners in the heart of Monte Carlo with the flagship superyacht MCY 105 as a highlight. It was a head turner, so well done to the MCY team! It appears Monte Carlo town is a perfect match for Monte Carlo Yachts!
