MCY reveals new MCY 70 at Dusseldorf Boat Show

On 20 January at a press conference in Dusseldorf, Monte Carlo Yachts presented their new MCY 70 design, which is an interesting evolution of their internationally acclaimed 70’ model.

The new MCY 70 features several interesting developments while still in keeping with MCY philosophy. These include:

  • Enlarged Flybridge Area
  • Wider carbon-fibre T-Top
  • Lower and larger windows in the main saloon enhancing luminosity and visibility
  • Mirrored MCY fashion plates
  • Enlarged portholes in the owner cabin, providing more light and air flow
  • Improved design including larger portholes at the bow
  • A significantly bigger main deck saloon, similar in size to that of the MCY 76’ model. The saloon boasts a clean and simple design combination, fully custom made by the Nuvolari Lenard studio.
  • Master cabin bed positioned alongside the axis of the yacht
  • Enlarged VIP cabin
  • Separate entrance to the Master Cabin from the saloon
  • More space in the bathrooms
  • Generally more streamlined lines with no vertical elements, and an enhanced hull shape

“The new MCY 70 is a great achievement,” say Carlo Nuvolari and Dan Lenard, designers. “It represents the natural evolution of everything that is beautiful about the MCY Collection and takes it further. It is unmistakably part of that family in concept, looks and design, but it is also unique in the subtle touches and enhanced spaces it offers onboard.”

The interior decoration on the new MCY 70 is unique and elegant, and makes use of geometric patterns and linear structures to bring together a living experience that is both warm and contemporary. The use of reflective materials and lacquered woods emphasizes brightness throughout the interior spaces such as in the main saloon where these elements are further enriched by glass and black marble countertops highlighted by reflective stainless steel details. These elements are softened by the natural wood flooring and vertical panels and rich fabrics, which provide a pleasant contrast to the crisp lacquered interiors. Moving to the owner cabin these elements are highlighted by the natural light pouring in from the larger portholes and reflected on the glass and mirrored surfaces.

We are looking to having the first of this new and improved MCY 70 in Asia very soon! In the meantime the shipyard has announced another two models for 2019, the MCY 66 and the MCY 76, which will both be unveiled in Summer in Italy.  Stay tuned for further developments.
