Sanlorenzo Supports Italian Pavilion at Venice Biennale; Joins forces with Valentino for Official Launch

The strong bond between Sanlorenzo and the field of creativity has found yet another means of expression in the Italian Pavilion at the 59th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. This event is promoted by the Directorate-General Contemporary Creativity – Ministry of Culture, of which Sanlorenzo is the main sponsor, together with Valentino. 

To celebrate its opening, Sanlorenzo joined hands with Valentino to host a private dinner that was held on 22 April, with guests including Kiernan Shipka, Christian Coppola and couple Tina Kunakey and Vincent Cassel, all of whom wore looks from the Valentino’s Pink PP collection. Artist Gian Maria Tosatti and curator Eugenio Viola attended the dinner and showcased an artwork titled “Storia della notte e destino delle comete,” which translates to “History of the night and fate of comets,” in English. 

The Art Director of Sanlorenzo, Piero Lissoni, once again wanted to pay homage to the city of Venice and to its cultural panorama. This is a city that for him genuinely and spontaneously generates vibrations on art, theatre, music, architecture, cinema, and everything that has to do with creativity. 

The site-specific installation proposes an aesthetic interpretation of the balance between man and nature; sustainable development and territory; ethics and profit. The installation stimulates a new debate on these issues.

This delivers different points of view within a unique context in which to once again express Sanlorenzo’s ability to distinguish itself in the world and its ever new and creative approach to telling the story of itself and of life at sea, drawing on contemporary artistic languages.
