Sanlorenzo to Premiere new addition to the Asymmetric Range: the SL96 Asymmetric

The Sanlorenzo SL96 Asymmetric is set to make her worldwide premiere at the Boot Düsseldorf 2020 show, which runs from 18 to 26 January 2020. This newest addition to the Sanlorenzo SL line is the second asymmetric yacht produced by the shipyard and follows on from the Sanlorenzo SL102 Asymmetric.

Both these designs represent an unmatched use of onboard space – something that the Sanlorenzo brand has become known for. The asymmetry of the design has made it possible to rethink conventional balances on board by offering the use of volumes that were previously unavailable, but above all creating new life scenarios, new points of view designed to intensify and favour that view, and an increased physical and emotional bond between mankind and the sea.

Among the world’s leading producers of yachts and superyachts, with this new model Sanlorenzo has once again demonstrated its ability to go beyond the limits posed by nautical design and to undertake new directions, thanks to a unique combination of technology and craftsmanship and a precise design concept.

With the aim of making more use of interior spaces and increasing the communication with the outside world, the SL96 Asymmetric rethinks the canonical layout of a yacht, retaining only the side decks on the starboard side and eliminating the left one, which is carried on the roof of the superstructure. This configuration allows 10sqm of surface space to be recovered to the benefit of the interior. This layout, when compared to a traditional one, offers more space, brightness, relaxation and better flexibility of use.

This bold new design will also showcase the interior design skill of Laura Sessa, who was chosen for her ability to translate Sanlorenzo’s ‘made-to-measure’ philosophy into the project.  The interior boasts a great sense of union and coherence, thanks to a uniform choice of materials and finishes throughout all spaces. The colours chosen are those of the Mediterranean, which is a distinctive hallmark of all Laura Sessa’s projects. The simplicity of the internal panels allow customers greater customization flexibility, as they can choose from a vast range of materials.

Another strong point of the yacht is the saloon on the main deck which, thanks to the new layout, offers greater interior space: the asymmetry has made it possible to place, on one side, a large dining room with a full-height glazed window that faces directly onto the sea, while on the other side, to starboard, a living room that opens onto a balcony. This allows guests to take full advantage of the light coming from the two large side windows and from the stern area.
