Beneteau’s First 25 stands out with her slender profile and stable performance. She is equally suited for racing or cruising comfortably at swift speeds. The unstayed rig of the First 25 is designed for racing, and her generous sail plan includes a square-top mainsail, furling genoa and asymmetric spinnaker as an option. Newly updated in 2016, the First 25 also comes with a code 0 sail.
While this sailboat might be ready for racing, the First 25 is far from a stripped-down race boat inside. There is a double-berth cabin forward, which is closed off from a bulkhead ensuring privacy, a separate bathroom, galley and a saloon that can convert to two berths. This is a racing yacht that is comfortable as well.
The 1.85-metre lifting keel improves the boat’s performance and can be lifted to allow access to even the most shallow of anchorages. The First 25 can also be had with a fixed keel if this is preferred.
