A perfect fusion of brawn and beauty, the Viking 62 delivers the performance, seakeeping and onboard accommodations a traveling owner and tournament fisherman demands.
The Viking 62 Convertible has an optimised hull so she is extra slippery and extra fast, running at a top speed in excess of 42 knots when powered by a pair of 1,925hp Caterpillar C32-A engines. Not only fast, the Viking 62C offers excellent seakeeping, so she will get to the fishing grounds or any destination quickly and in comfort.
The flybridge center console illustrates our deft ability to balance form and function. The console has no visible fasteners for a clean, modern look and 360-degree toekick to max out deck space and increase safety and comfort. It holds a variety of electronics and controls in recessed and weather-protected areas. The optional Release Marine high-gloss teak helm pod and upholstered helm and companion chairs complement the surrounding finely tooled white fiberglass.
The 172-square-foot cockpit has dozens of useful conveniences and equipment that include a step box cooler, tackle stowage, a bait freezer, in-deck fish and stowage wells, a transom live well, and a transom door with a lift gate for easy boarding. There's a laminated mounting plate in the cockpit sole for the installation of a rocket launcher, table or a fighting chair as pictured here.
The Viking 62C has an observation mezzanine that overlooks the cockpit. This shaded space is designed to keep guests cool and dry, and also out of the way of the crew and fishermen in the cockpit below. The cockpit has professional fishing equipment, with flush rod holders, a transom fish box and insulated fish boxes, to name just a few of the amenities. Inside, there is a choice of three or four staterooms, with each stateroom having a private bathroom in the three-stateroom version.
A four-stateroom layout maximizes comfort and privacy. The master suite features a queen-size walk-around bed, abundant stowage, and private head facilities. The walnut interior is offered with either a satin or high-gloss finish.
Step inside the salon and you are immediately reminded the 62 is a luxury yacht as well as a sportfishing battlewagon. The salon is beautifully proportioned with relaxing and dining areas, along with a well-appointed galley. With its island counter, the custom galley provides convenience and accessibility.
