The Viking 80 Convertible shares subtle styling cues with the Viking family, included rakish lines, a metallic-black windshield and teardrop-shaped windows that make her standout on the water. The Viking 80C doesn’t stay still for long, cruising and 30 knots and hitting a 40-knot top speed when powered by 2,635hp MTU 2000 V16 M96L engines, the same engines found on the 92 Convertible.
The 20 square metre cockpit is well outfitted for serious fishing with a transom door to haul in large catches. There are all the fishing necessities to be expected on a sportfishing yacht of this size, such as live bait wells, freezers, tackle storage and a chill box for drinks.
The saloon is entered from the cockpit’s mezzanine deck and welcomes guests in satin-finished walnut joinery, leather and granite. The interior, designed by William Bales and Company, are elegantly designed and decorated. Each of the five staterooms is well appointed, and the master stateroom is a true suite worthy of a large motor yacht.
