Boaters Against Plastic Event in Singapore – Because We Care

Cleaning is caring! The Simpson Marine Singapore team recently took part in the first Boaters Against Plastic Event organised by Singapore Marine Guide and Seven Clean Seas. The event took place on a Saturday morning where boaters gathered on a mission to clean up the Southern islands of Singapore. Team Simpson opted to head to Pulau Hantu for this activation and took our stock yacht Fairline F//Line 33 for the trip.

The Fairline F//Line 33 took less than 20 minutes of smooth cruising for the Simpson Marine team to arrive at Pulau Hantu. Our group stayed on the island for close to two hours before moving by tender to a smaller island right beside Pulau Hantu continue the clean-up. This event was a great initiative to help preserve our oceans, a goal that Simpson Marine is strongly devoted to, and we congratulate organisers for this great idea which will surely be first of many.

Since 2018, Simpson Marine has adopted a Plastic Free Ocean philosophy with an official pledge to substantially reduce single-use plastic across the company. Alongside the recycling bins appearing in our offices and progressive elimination of any plastic packaging, we are stopping plastic bottled water and other plastic distribution at our boat shows, avoiding disposable plastic cutlery and table sets at owners’ rendezvous, and we have many more actions underway.

By doing our part we are showing responsibility to marine life and the oceanic environment, which in turn gives us the perfect landscape to enjoy yachting. We look forward to more of these activations in the near future.
