Sanlorenzo showcases Italian craftsmanship at “I-Made” exhibition during London Design Festival

From 19 to 22 September Sanlorenzo, an outstanding leader in the yachting sector, attended the inaugural edition of I-Made (Italian Manufacture, Art and Design Exhibition), an exhibition project curated by the famous architect Giulio Cappellini to celebrate the unique excellence of Italian creativity.

The show, which was organised during the London Design Festival 2019, was held in the iconic space of the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. Over four days the event presented installations, talks and a selection of the most representative brands of Made in Italy, to convey a sense of the passion, tradition and uniqueness of Italian brands and designers to an international audience of architects, designers and design lovers.

As one of the world’s top producers of yachts and superyachts, Sanlorenzo continues to confirm its deep ties to the world of design, taking part in the project by displaying models of two of the yachts of the company’s fleet. These were exhibited like works of art to represent the unique combination of experience, craftsmanship, design and innovation behind every sartorial creation of the shipyard. Every Sanlorenzo yacht is the result of a complex, versatile and innovative project, honed down to the smallest details thanks to the dedication of excellent local craftsmen, and personalised to meet the specific needs of the owner.

For this new exhibition, Sanlorenzo showcased their unique approach, which draws on the worlds of art and design in order to counter the traditional rigidity of the world of yachting. This complementary relationship between the worlds of yachting and art is thanks to the innovative vision of Massimo Perotti, Chairman of Sanlorenzo.

Sanlorenzo was the first shipyard to involve outstanding talents in the interior design of yachts, such as Dordoni Architetti, Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, Piero Lissoni (Art Director of the company since 2018) and Patricia Urquiola, in their work. Thanks to their efforts, Sanlorenzo has taken new visions on board, introducing innovations and styles that have made it possible to reinterpret the concept of on-board space. This approach is a true all-around asset of Sanlorenzo.

With their participation at I-Made, Sanlorenzo remains interlinked with the world of design, confirming its desire to tell its story by being a part of the main international events in the art and design sectors.
