Bluegame’s flagship BG72 Launched in Cannes and Awarded “Best Innovation Yacht” at the World Yachts Trophies Awards

Bluegame’s brand new BG72 that has just premiered at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival has been awarded with the prestigious “Best Innovation Yacht” from 62 to 80 feet award at the World Yachts Trophies Awards ceremony in Cannes.

The new BG72 is the first open powerboat available on the market that rivals flybridge yachts, having interior areas that are equally comfortable. Enclosed liveable areas let the outside environment gently enter the yacht, offering a special connection with the sea from anywhere on board. Her shorter enclosed wheelhouse and wide-open upper deck is similar to the rest of the BG range, and features the naval architecture by Lou Codega. She encompasses all the core values of the brand and also offers a high-performance hull that is comfortable, safe and easy to manoeuvre.

The BG72’s remarkable layout features a successful fusion of open and flybridge yachts with a completely open upper deck and the original lower deck of the BGX range. It is destined to bring lovers of both typologies together, without any compromises.

Designed by architect Luca Santella, the BG72 maintains the engineering chassis of the BGX models with the high-performance hull created in collaboration with the naval architect Lou Codega and the advanced Volvo IPS propulsion system that ensures high performance and low consumption.

The BG72 inherits from the BG range the original simplicity of use and offers for the first time on an open yacht a cockpit with 360° visibility characterised by the windscreen with inverted glass. There is also the possibility of total closure of the cockpit, which guarantees protection in adverse weather conditions or privacy in the presence of the crew.

The outdoor areas are arranged over three levels; the beach area in close contact with the sea, the large living area with sunlounge/sofa in continuity with the dining area, a spacious bow area equipped and flexible on the main deck and, finally, an easily accessible and enjoyable sundeck.

The interiors can be tailored to the owner’s needs, dependent on whether they are living on board in a more convivial or more private way. The saloon with direct access from the platform, as seen on the BGX, can be replaced by the owner’s cabin, offering stunning views and the opportunity of waking up directly in contact with the sea.
