First Sea Trials on New Lagoon 51 Completed, First Photos Released

We are delighted to be able to reveal more information about the new Lagoon 51. At 50ft 4in long, with a 26ft 7in beam, the latest Lagoon 51 perpetuates the style and iconic looks of all Lagoon models, retaining the essence and top features of this sailing catamaran brand. Designed by French architectural firm and acclaimed catamaran experts VPLP Design, this brand new sailing catamaran was designed as a synthesis of the modernity of the shapes and the sail plan, especially with living space on deck and inside that is incomparable on other boats of its size.

The Lagoon 51 sailing catamaran features a large, modern flybridge, with optional solar panels, that take up 80 per cent of the roof. There is also a removable hardtop that can be fitted with solar panels. According to Lagoon, this solar-powered technology gives more than 3,400W to operate on-board services. The main social area is a C-shaped seating area that can be transformed into a huge sunbathing area.

The Lagoon 51’s central high-low platform has been developed in line with Tenderlift. Together with its wide transoms, a full-beam platform is available. In the saloon, an L-shaped galley with a cooking area is located to port. Opposite that is identical L-shaped cabinetry, complete with serving space and fridge drawers. With the mast at the forward end, the stepped-up lounge in the saloon offers clear, panoramic 360º views over the water — a desirable feature for continuous views and an amplified sense of space. Amongst the new wood finishes are Alpi woods and oak, giving a beautiful, beachy look.

On the lower decks, owners can opt for more comfort with a vanity desk and walk-in dressing room in the master suite. For the four-cabin layout, there are two en-suite cabins in each hull. On the other hand, a six-cabin, four-head layout consists of an extra cabin inside and forward of the stairs.

Now the first photos of the Lagoon 51 have been released, more are coming soon as the boat is undergoing its first sea trials in the Mediterranean.
