Simpson Marine Becomes Corporate Patron of Hong Kong Ballet

Simpson Marine is delighted to announce that the company has become a Corporate Patron of Hong Kong Ballet, Asia’s premier ballet company, and a member of the prestigious Club Hong Kong Ballet.

Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) is internationally recognised as a world-class institution which represents Hong Kong’s unique character. Since its inception in 1979, HKB has evolved into a vibrant performing arts organisation with a dynamic repertoire, forward-thinking community engagement initiatives, and an emphasis on excellence.

With nearly 50 dancers from all over the globe, HKB has won recognition internationally for creativity, talent, and artistry. It is headed by the charismatic Artistic Director and Choreographer Septime Webre, an internationally recognised ballet director, choreographer, educator, and advocate. He joined Hong Kong Ballet as its Artistic Director in July 2017 after 17 years as Artistic Director of The Washington Ballet in Washington DC, US from 1999-2016. Previously he served as Artistic Director of the American Repertory Ballet, based in Princeton, New Jersey, US from 1993-1999. In addition, Webre has served as the Artistic Director of Halcyon, a Washington DC-based foundation, launching an annual international Festival for Creativity in Washington DC in June 2018.

This support of HKB is part of Simpson Marine’s increased engagement with local communities and arts and is strongly connected to its Hong Kong origins, where the company established its Asian headquarters back in 1984.

As a corporate patron, Simpson Marine will enjoy a series of entitlements that will benefit our customers including VIP tickets to selected shows and premieres and private, intimate interactions with the Creative Director and dancers on specific occasions.

After a period of slow down due to pandemic related restrictions, HKB is back in operations with a busy production calendar, and we are delighted that our customers will be able to enjoy these special moments with art in the coming year.

It is the first time that such a collaboration has been developed on this scale by any yachting company in Asia, so we are very proud to have made it possible, together with the team at HKB.
