Summer 2020 was such a new experience for me and my family. My husband is a teacher, so we would usually go back to our home countries of Poland and France for the summer holidays and enjoy time with our loved ones back there. But that was before the Covid times that made in us all change our way of life including our usual way of spending our holidays.
As with most of Hong Kong’s residents, we stayed in the city for the summer holidays and managed to enjoy some amazing experiences thanks to boating. With public beaches and pools being shut, how else can you enjoy Hong Kong with small children except to go boating in more secluded, safe areas while staying in a small, trusted circle? We were able to go boating on friends boats and also rented boats and junks to explore Hong Kong’s 260+ islands.
The weather was beautiful and the waters pristine – with our group of closest friends and their kids we were sailing around Lamma, Hong Kong Southern Beaches, Sai Kung with Millionaire’s Bay, Snake Bay, Kai Sau Chau, Whiskey Bay, and more and we enjoyed every single moment at sea, with good healthy food, wine and music. And the kids loved it too!
That was our weekly weekend routine which helped us enjoy a great summer despite all the restrictive circumstances. A big thanks to the sea!
