Hong Kong team goes fishing

After a week of great weather, light southerly winds, calm seas, the green water extended over 40 miles out on the day which the Aberdeen Boat Club open fishing tournament was held.

It was a successful tournament with 8 boats participating from different yacht clubs, all meeting at ABC to start the event together. Over 30 anglers with family and friends stayed until late for the group barbeque dinner and awards presentation.

Simpson Marine team also entered the race and cruised out for almost 3 hours for the line in. Even though the team did not catch tons of fish, it was still a great day out in the sea under the beautiful sunny sky with fellow colleagues and friends having fun.

A variety of fish were caught and then released. The champion fish was the 7.1kg Mahi Mahi caught by Mr. Joe Poon and Mandarin Sport Fishing Club won both Champion Team and Champion Club. This is the best attended tournament to date and it is expected to grow and attract more professional anglers to join the next tournament which is scheduled for August.
