World-class sailor Horace Chen, who will potentially become the first Chinese skipper of a boat in The Ocean Race, recently enjoying two weeks of training on the Figaro Beneteau 3 (FB3) in Taiwan. Immediately after the recent Sydney SailGP event, Horace travelled to Taiwan for the FB3 training together with the boat’s owner and crew. This training was not just to assist with preparation for the San Francisco SailGP event but also to assist with Horace’s long distance solo sailing dream in the La Solitaire du Figaro race.
Horace found this two-week training period immensely useful and greatly valued this opportunity. During his time on board he undertook all boat calibrations, team training as well as solo training. “The foiling of the FB3 will really help with my F50 racing at the SailGP event,” says Horace. “Most importantly, I would like to participate the next La Solitaire du Figaro, that is what sailing is, and this training really helped with this goal.”
