Bluegame has officially teamed up with K-Challenge LAB SAS, the parent company of the Orient Express Racing team, France’s representative at the 2024 America’s Cup.
The partnership was announced at a press conference held by the Sanlorenzo Group during Cannes Yachting Festival 2023. A scaled model of the BGH-HSV (Hydrogen Support Vessel), which will serve as the chase boat for the prestigious French team, was unveiled during at the conference. It is the second team, after the New York’ American Magic, that will entrust their official chase boat production to Bluegame.
The BGH-HSV is powered solely by hydrogen, achieving zero emissions, and can reach speeds of up to 50 knots on foils. Bluegame, renowned for its expertise in America’s Cup technology, has meticulously crafted the BGH-HSV to embody the pinnacle of sustainability and innovation. This collaboration underscores Bluegame’s technological credibility and Sanlorenzo’s leadership in sustainable boating practices.
With seasoned veterans Stephan Kandler and Bruno Dubois leading the Orient Express Racing team project, the selection of Bluegame as the builder of the chase boat marks a significant milestone in the brand’s journey toward excellence and innovation in the yachting industry.
Building on the success of the BGH-HSV project, Bluegame is set to launch the BGM65HH (hydrogen-hybrid) multihull project in 2026, promising 80 miles of zero-emission navigation. Meanwhile, K-Challenge, now the Orient Express Team, has diligently prepared for France’s return to the Cup as a competitive force.
