Sanlorenzo 500EXP Visits Hong Kong After 5-Year Circumnavigation

Early January 2024 saw an iconic Sanlorenzo 500EXP explorer superyacht arriving into Hong Kong. This followed her five-year long circumnavigation cruise which featured in-depth stops in Alaska, the southern hemisphere, French Polynesia and New Zealand, before calling at Asia’s yachting gems including Raja Ampat, Indonesia and Palawan, the Philippines.

The yacht, delivered by Simpson Marine in 2018, was built by Italian shipyard Sanlorenzo. She is the first hull in Sanlorenzo’s 500EXP superyacht series with E-Motion electric propulsion. Her exterior profile was created by Francesco Paszkowski. She measures 47m/154.2ft and provides accommodation for up to 10 guests in five cabins.

EXTERIOR

The imposing exterior from renowned designer Francesco Paszkowski is designed to recall the profiles of large exploration yachts. This is achieved by keeping the aft deck clear for a helipad for an Airbus Helicopter H125– making boarding, disembarking and exploring a breeze.

On the lower deck is a beach club with full wet bar, where guests can relax with a drink and enjoy being close to the ocean. Alternatively, this is the ideal place to access the large variety of water toys which the vessel is capable of carrying. The beach club can also be converted into a storage garage which is able to accommodate tenders of up to seven metres in length.

Despite her aft deck being dedicated helipad space, there is still plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors on board this luxurious yacht. On the upper deck, a jacuzzi is placed aft, with additional seating and sun loungers for guests to relax on.

The flybridge deck above features a heated swimming pool, with its aft position making it an incredible place to enjoy the water while taking in the surrounding views. Forward of this is a living and dining lounge area, where guests can gather to enjoy socializing and al fresco meals while simultaneously being sheltered by the hard top above.

INTERIOR

Inside, she is every bit as much a luxury yacht as she is an explorer. The interior décor showcases a blend of white and creams complemented by dark woodwork, creating an atmosphere of relaxed luxury.

On the upper deck, the wheelhouse is placed forward, with an aft living area featuring comfortable couches which look out onto the deck beyond large glass doors.

The main deck salon is home to a beautiful open plan living and dining space, with an assortment of couches, armchairs and tables creating a wonderful area for guests to kick back and relax. Amidships is the formal indoor dining table, with the entire space filled with light thanks to the surrounding panoramic windows.

Having explored the world, the imposing 500EXP superyacht is now going to remain in Asia and cruise through some of the area’s most spectacular locations with her iconic sky blue hull and red helicopter aft.

Since the yacht’s launch in 2018, Sanlorenzo has excelled in producing explorer superyachts below 500GT, making world exploration much more accessible to aspiring yacht owners. Currently, 10 units of the 500EXP are cruising the world’s oceans with two more under construction as of January 2024.

If you wish to explore the world or embark on regional cruising on board your own Sanlorenzo yacht, you may consider models including the new 44X-Space superyacht, the yachts from the semi-displacement SD range and the new crossover yachts from the SX range, all of which offer extensive autonomy and can take owners anywhere in the world.
