Since June of 2020, I have been happily exploring the waters of Hong Kong on my 7.6m Highfield RIB. With a 300hp outboard giving a top speed of 48 knots, and comfortable cruising speeds of 30-35 knots, I have truly gone from edge to edge of Hong Kong’s borders, while also seeing every nautical nook and cranny in between. My friends and I have enjoyed beach BBQs and camping trips in Double Haven, frequent trips to Po Toi Island for amazing seafood, and long runs out to western Lantau Island (in sight of Macau) to hopefully spot some of that area’s very rare pink dolphins. I’m very
pleased with how well Highfield’s deep-V aluminium hull handles all sea conditions, as this enables me to enjoy boating to the fullest even when the weather might not be ideal.
